Approximately 60 players and officials travelled by Coach early Sunday
morning and were greeted by magnificent conditions at Batemans Bay for
the first of the days activities - a match between themselves
on the picturesque local Australian Football ground of the
South Coast 2004 Premiers the Sea Hawks.
Stand out players were veterans - Renee Ioppi, and, yep the short
lived retirement of Captain for the past three seasons Jason Gilbert who
has lost non of his hard at it type of play. Jon Elias was another whose
return to the playing field mid last year after three knee operations
(and now with a full pre season under his belt) will be of enormous value
come the commencement of the competition proper.
Youngsters Paul Williams, Chris Haddock, Joe Sibly, Luke Whatman, Scott
McLeod, Paul Campbell and newcomers Steve McPherson and Duncan McLeod
were also impressive. Dane Miller another who returned late last
year after knee surgery will certainly press for senior grade selection.

High hopes of further improvement rest with Matt Liddle which should bring
him well into contention for leadership recognition after a relative short
career in AFL.
After a two hour session of play over four quarters, the Tigers then
travelled to Broulee Beach for an exhaustive session including activities
associated with tug o war and then onto the residence of former Club President
Dave Imrie where a magnificent afternoon BBQ was presented for all the
players and officials in attendance.
Senior Coach Mark Armstrong, whilst disappointed by a number of senior
players unable to attend, expressed his delight in the commitment by all
players in attendance especially some of the younger brigade who are expected
to take the next step into senior grade football this year.
