Tigers Season Launch and Sydney Swans Breakfast
The
Tigers conducted two functions during last week, the first being the Season
Launch on Thursday 31 March and then the Sydney Swans Breakfast prior
to their clash with the Kangaroos at Manuka Oval on Saturday 2 April.
Approximately 80 invited guests attended the Season Launch including many
of the Clubs Major Sponsors.
Representing the Tigers Major Corporate Sponsor Rise + Shine were the
Principals of that organisation Jenny and Roger Cheetham whilst Christine
Walters (Tobin Brothers), Michael Niesen (CUB), Paul Walshe (ActewAGL),
Robyn and Darryl Jenkins (Canberra Trophy Centre), Fred Gisik (Pedemonts
Transport), Bruce and Fran Morrison (Morrisons Newsagency) Alan Muir (Queanbeyan
Age) and Gary Robb (Gary Robb and Associates) were all in attendance.
Other sponsors in attendance included Jill and Nicole Bright and Diddles
Gisik.
Tigers Club Football Manager Ron Fowlie announced three new sponsors for
Season 2005 being the Bank of Queensland (Julie and Ross Liddle), TransACT
and Capital Powder Coating (Michael Doherty).

Speaker Ë Leonie Mellor
Guest Speaker at the Launch was Capital 10 Political Correspondent Leonie
Mellor who outlined the disaster of the Tsunami Boxing Day events throughout
Indonesia of which she attended and reported in detail of her experiences.
Terry Wheeler
Club Coach Mark Armstrong welcomed new players to the Club for Season
2005 and introduced those in attendance whilst also announcing the appointment
of Terry Wheeler as Specialist Coach for the year. Wheeler being a former
Footscray player and coach whose has just recently moved to Canberra with
the AIS. (Again a separate article will appear on this announcement in
the near future).
Sydney Swans Breakfast
 
The Tigers Auditorium had a whole new feel to it on the Saturday morning
being decked out in the colours of red and white for the Swans Supporters
Breakfast prior to the match at Manuka Oval. Sydney Swans football legend
Paul Kelly (now a Director of on the Swans Board) was the Guest Speaker
along with Football Manager Andrew Ireland. Approx 150 people attended
the function highly commending those who organised the event especially
the young players who were in attendance at 6.00am to assist set up the
function for a 10.00am start. Thanks being forwarded to Brett Ormston,
John Murphy and Jordan Longmore in addition to Director Patrick Exton
and Junior Club President Judy Mustard.
