SWANS – 2005 AFL PREMIERS

The 2005 AFL Grand Final rates as one of the best ever. The Sydney Swans were magnificent and we forward our congratulations to all involved with the team. The Queanbeyan Tigers have had a strong affiliation with the Swans Club for many years.

In season 2005, our own Ryan Quade has been a playing member of the Swans Reserve Grade team including being part of their Reserves team that took out the AFL Canberra title.

Football Manager Andrew Ireland and current Board Member Rick Quade also have strong ties with the Queanbeyan Club – both gentlemen being acknowledged by Swans Chairman Richard Colless as important contributors not only to the Swans survival but to their Premiership success.

The Tigers Club hosted the Sydney Swans breakfast prior to their match in Canberra against the Kangaroos at Manuka Oval earlier this year and is hopeful of continuing their affiliation in 2006.

Well done to some of the behind the scene assistants that we deal with quite often in Sue Wynn, Paul Grzanka and Graeme Cocks.
