Queanbeyan Tigers Highlights for Season 2005

Mark Armstrong appointed Coach for fourth term.

• First, Reserve and Under 18 Grade teams play in their respective 1st semi final(s)

• Andrew Lieschke – Runner up in Mulrooney Medal

• Club is Runner up in Club Championships

• Michael Niesen – Reserve Grade League leading goalkicker with 83 goals.

• Jeff Charman – Under 18 Grade League goalkicker runner up with 57 goals

• AFL Canberra Representatives:  Mitch Daniher, Andrew Lieshcke and Paul Williams

• AFL Canberra Team of the Year inclusions: Andrew Lieschke, Mark Armstrong, Mitch Daniher

• Life Membership awarded to Damian Kirkwood for services rendered to Football

• New Administration Manager – Jordan Longmore

• New Chairman of Football - Bob Gibbs appointed when Geoff Gosling resigns after serving 7 Years.

• Upgrade of home team changerooms / showers and gym area at Margaret Donoghoe Sports Ground

• Walk of Honour Pathway at MDO opened in honour of Michael Haddock – tragically taken on Christmas Eve – 2004. The Walkway acknowledges achievements of 200 1st Grade game players.  

• Additional Supporters Deck constructed alongside Administration Building at Margaret Donoghoe Sportsground.

• Michael Goiser plays his 300th Club Game for the Tigers during a 20 year playing career. 

• James Dore, Dave Hunter and Chris Davis admitted to Tigers Wall of Fame

• Kane Cawse, Jon Elias and Dennis Quade – admitted to 100 Club for the achievement of playing 100 Club games.

• Tigers produce an updated version of the Clubs video history in addition to publishing “The History of the Tigers 100 Club and Famous Tigers”.

• PD 2 – Under 15 Premiership victory is fourth consecutive premiership for this team.

• Tuggeranong Grand Final Luncheon Supporter of the Year – Queanbeyan’s Jock MacAulay.

• Mitch Daniher wins Tigers 1st Grade Best and Fairest at age 19 – one of the youngest.

• Tigers 20 Year Reunion of 1985 1st and Reserve Grade Premierships teams – a fantastic occasion.
