Increased support from Dairy Farmers to the Tigers Club
Dairy
Farmers – through the Canberra based business of Capitol Chilled
Foods Australia has become the Queanbeyan Tigers ‘Premier’
Major Corporate Sponsor for the next two seasons.
Managing Director of Capitol Chilled Foods Australia Garry Sykes announced
a substantial increase in the current sponsorship of the Tigers after
being involved for the past four years.
Mr Sykes agreed to assist the Club with an increase in financial support
due to the manner in which the Club had been able to service the existing
sponsorship arrangement. “ I am only to pleased to continue and
increase our support of the Tigers Club - one of the great local sporting
clubs of the region. They have certainly demonstrated their commitment
to the development of youth within the region with various development
programs. It is through those avenues and the ongoing success of the Clubs
senior grade teams that our brand of business can become stronger”
Mr Sykes said.
Capitol Chilled Foods Australia provides the Canberra / Queanbeyan community
with approximately $1.2 million dollars annually to sporting and cha ritable
organisations. With a wide range of dairy products the company is seen
as one of the most significant business groups within the region that
assists a range of community activities. CCFA have previously been Major
Sponsors of the ACT Brumbies and Canberra Raiders and continue to provide
both sporting bodies financial support - in particular the Raiders of
which they are a Sponsor.
Chairman of the Queanbeyan Tigers Bob Gibbs welcomed Dairy Farmers ongoing
support of the Club and thanked Garry Sykes for his commitment to the
Queanbeyan Community. Mr Gibbs spoke of the high level of support to the
Club from many companies in the Queanbeyan Canberra region including ActewAGL,
CUB and Tobin Brothers. He also thanked outgoing Corporate Sponsors Roger
and Jenny Cheetham of Rise + Shine for their support over many years.
Newly appointed Executive Officer of the Queanbeyan Business Council
Geoffrey Bird spoke highly of the commitment of Capitol Chilled Foods
Australia to the Queanbeyan Community and made welcome to Garry Sykes
as a new member of the Business Council.
