Lead up matches to the Opening of the AFL Canberra Competition
The Tigers conducted an information session for players last Sunday (5
March) followed by training and an intra club match at the picturesque
Queanbeyan Park.
The players were addressed in the Tigers Licensed Club on a number of
matters by Chairman of Football Bob Gibbs, former Premiership Coach Brian
Quade, Gerard Rees from Gary Robb & Associates and Coach Mark Armstrong
before proceeding to the Queanbeyan Park Oval for the intra club match.
A number of players stood out during the match. Unfortunately DJ Walker
suffered a shoulder injury in the first ten minutes of the game. Supporters
will recall young DJ being one of the Clubs most promising players in
2002 / 3 until numerous injuries forced a two year break from the game.
This new injury could put him out of action for a considerable time.
