A close shave for Tigers Club General Manager
Last
Friday a packed Tigers Club saw Club Manager Scott Preston have his head
shaved, but all for a great casue -the 'Shave for a cure' fundraiser for
Leukaemia research and support.
Instigator and fundraiser Linda Budd and three other brave souls also
had their heads shaved, with Linda's daughter Jordana's hair going to
another worthy cause - the hair bank in Canberra that makes wigs for people
affected by cancer treatment. Last year Linda's son Calub was the centre
of attention when undergoing similar folical removal in front of another
big crowd at the Club.
Earlier in the evening Scott stated that he would also be shorn if members
raised $500 on the night. The amount had reached $400 when the Board of
the Club tipped in the rest to seal Scott's fate! In all, the night raised
several thousand dollars with the highlight being Scott's precious locks
being removed.
Congratulations to Linda, Scott and the other chrome domes for participating
to raise money for this worthy cause.
