Dean Fodden Injury
A season ending injury to Dean Foden could not have been a worse
start to 2006 for this youngster whose multitude of serious injuries
over the last five years would have been enough for any one player
to give the game away.
Yet he still has a smile for everyone when displaying the latest
soul destroying injury which could quite possibly see him sidelined
until 2008.
Two knee reconstructions which occurred during his Under 18 Grade
days with the Tigers is surely bad enough but then in 2005 Season
after playing a number of 1st Grade matches he breaks a rib along
with puncturing a lung which puts an end to his season.
He missed being part of the Tigers Champion Premiership Under
18 Grade team of 2002 due to the knee problems and now - on what
was a promising 2006 pre season - dislocated and broke his wrist
while training with the Harman Hoggs which has since seen enormous
complications with infection.
Swelling of the wrist after pins were removed have revealed a bacterial
growth which could see the champ not just off the playing arena
but out of work until September.
His arm is encased with an apparatus preventing any movement until
such time as complete healing appears to have occurred with only
a 20% chance of complete movement of the wrist now being achieved.
Everyone from the Tigers Club hope for a speedy and successful
recovery for this young man with the big smile. The Club hopes to
be able to provide him with some financial assistance during this
time and would welcome any other assistance that may be available.
