Tigers Sponsors Day

The Tigers Sponsors Day last Saturday at the Margaret Donoghoe Sportsground proved successful with many of its Corporate Sponsors in attendance.

The Club is fortunate to have many local business houses associated with the organisation and most are active participants of the Club.

Although our Major Corporate Sponsor Garry Sykes from Dairy Farmers (Capitol Chilled Foods Australia) could not be in attendance he was well represented by Rowan Johnstone. Rowans son Stephen represented Master School Portraits Canberra after he had completed playing for St Edmunds in their Under 16 Grade upset win over the local Tigers team !!!

Christine Walters and Marg Andrew from Tobin Brothers are always welcomed guests of the Club as are representatives of Carlton Untied Breweries (Michael Niesen), Canberra Trophy Centre (Darryl and Robyn Jenkins), Tony Innaimo Transport (Tony Innaimo), Bank of Queensland (Ross and Julie Liddle).

Newcomers to the Tigers Club as Major Sponsors are Bing Lee and were represented by Peter Scott and Cathy Chaffey. Frank Barbaro and Frank Palombi are long time sponsors of both the Junior and Senior organisations as are the Brights, Jill and Nicole and the Club would not be the same without the support of Shaun and Debbie O Neill.

Whilst many could not attend, they forwarded their apologies including Paul Walshe from ActewAGL and Bruce and Fran Morrison from Morrisons Newsagency. Deidre Gisik was also an apology and we all know were husband Fred was assisting as the Clubs chief Sports Medicine Trainer on the field.

Patrick Exton - another major Sponsor of the Tigers through SWIRL Café in Kingston once again provided magnificent catering enjoyed by all in attendance.

Attending a Tigers function for the first time was Diane O Hara representing TransACT along with husband Bob with Ken Sissons being in attendance also for the first time having just come on board as a participant of the Alan Muir Foundation through the business of Country Style Windows.

Other representatives of the Alan Muir Foundation in attendance were Brian Quade, Matthew Weickhardt and Jane Haddock. Former Tigers Chairman Wally Gisik attended representing Maxwells Real Estate while former Champion fullforward Allan Mapleson was in attendance representing All About Vending.

Overall it was a fantastic outing for the Clubs sponsors made better with the knowledge that the Tigers had won all three grades on the day.
