TIGERS NEWS December 2006
James Kavanagh to the Tigers!
The Club continues to impress with it's 'off' season
recruitment campaign with the valuable signing of Ainslie full forward
James Kavanagh. A strong, leading forward, his mobility in the Tigers
forward line is sure to provide many headaches for opposition sides.
"Kav" has been the AFL Canberra leading goal kicker for
the past two seasons along with being a regular representative player
since joining Ainslie five seasons ago. Crossing the border is never
an easy decision, but this likeable character joins two former team
mates in Danny and Roy Jaques who transferred to the Tigers earlier
this season from our long time enemy.
Another player joining the Tigers is Greg Hair - a mid
field player whose travels have seen him play as a youngster with
Narrandera in the Riverina League before moving to Bathurst to attend
University and then most recently with Sydney Football League Club
Pennant Hills. Previously coached by current Tigers Reserve Grade
match day assistant Noel Sibly, Greg won a best and fairest award
with the Bushrangers and also represented the Central West League.
With player losses at a minimum and with the addition
of Mark Powell (Swans / Kangaroo's), Matt Cavedon (Myrtleford) and
the possible signing of two other players, the Tigers are certainly
shaping the 2007 season as an exciting time for the Club. Also joining
the Tigers in season 2007, will be promising 17 year olds from the
Pambula Panther Football Club Daniel Jabornik and James Manie with
two other youngsters from Bathurst signing with the Tigers in Alex
Cuttiford and Ryan Nelson.
