The night went so quickly it was difficult to comprehend the magnificent occasion the Tigers provided many former players and associates of the Club last Saturday evening.
The 90 Year Gala Dinner bought together associates from many different eras with the history being described by such legendary players as Michael Goiser, James Black, Mark Armstrong, James Kavanagh, Robert Anderson and record games holder Tony Wynd.
Master of ceremonies Paul Walshe was outstanding in his research. His knowledge of the organisation being a feature. Power point displays highlighted the presentations of each era. The Tigers introduced the 100 Club Legends team – a team announced two years ago but on Saturday night near all were present and received a suitable plaque commemorating the team.

Hawthorn Legend Robert DiPierdomenico attended the Tigers 90 Year celebrations including the NEAFL match and again that evening. His question and answer session with Paul Walshe being one of the highlights of the evening.

Ian Muir with sisters Alison and Susan responding to the announcement of the elevation of Alan Muir to LEGEND Status.
There were many other highlights but non more so than the announcement of the late and great Alan Muir being elevated to LEGENDARY Status – being just the second recipient behind Noel Miller. It was indeed an emotional moment for the entire Muir Family who attended the function representing their father / father in law – unsuspecting of what was to unfold.
The final part of the night was reserved for a DVD depicting the History of the Tigers. This incredible production included game day highlights from the fifties and sixties right through to the current day. Legendary players and officials were interviewed and the tough and good times told.

Club Legend James Black speaks of the 1960’s – 1970’s era
It was a spectacular night cut short by the quickness of the occasion but all in all a wonderful gathering of past and present players, officials, sponsors and supporters.
The Club sincerely thanks Paul Walshe for his efforts as MC and coordinator of the DVD History. Local business Coordinate produced the DVD in spectacular fashion and are sincerely thanked for their efforts and contribution to the evening.
Throughout the day and leading up to the occasion many were involved in the organisation and to those we again thank for your contribution.
For fear of missing someone no names will be mentioned but lets say to those who assisted set up the function, who assisted during the night, those who were at the ground on game day doing their upmost for the organisation and to those who were at the ground on the Friday cleaning and preparing the facility for the following days events – a huge thank you.
