The Queanbeyan Tigers Club are pleased to announce Robbie Thompson to the position

ree

of Welfare, Wellness and Mental Health for the balance of 2022, taking over the role from the highly respected Scotty Minchin who is taking a well earned break after many years of wonderful and dedicated service in this position.

Rob is a highly respected mentor and leader in Welfare, Wellness and Mental Health. His personal journey is that of working in front line uniform services, such as the ADF and Emergency Services. This experience has certainly placed him with the knowledge to support those facing life’s challenges.

He is an agency ‘champion’ across the Emergency Services in respecting ideas, experiences, and contributions of others, and educating staff about the benefits of inclusion contributing to innovation and improving well being.

His commitment is further demonstrated as a advocate introducing Soldier On, Fortem Australia and the ADF ARRTS within ACT Emergency Services, which assists those affected by their service with well being initiatives and support.

ree

His support and personal lived journey has seen him receive numerous awards such as NSW/ACT Rotary Officer of the Year 2018, GIO Bravery Award 2017, ACT Emergency Service Meritorious Commendation for his selfless support of others.

He also a registered Mental Health First Aider and Level 1 Sports Chaplain.

Rob re-joined the club earlier this year as its Sports Conditioner after a lengthy period of absence having held a similar role during the Tigers successful NEAFL Competition experience which resulted in a highly sought after NEAFL Premiership in 2012 defeating a star studded Sydney Swans Reserves team.
