Club Legends Neil Irwin and Captain Ryan Quade reach milestone games this weekend when they take the field against Ainslie and Sydney University respectively.

They will both play their 200th Club game .

“Quadie” will reach the milestone as a member of the NEAFL team at the Sydney University Oval on Saturday while “Neilo” reaches the double century against old foes Ainslie at the newly named Alan Ray Oval (formerly Ainslie Oval) on Sunday in the 1st Grade encounter.

Both have been outstanding members of the Tigers Club during long careers. They have contributed to the Tigers Club culture with strong loyalty and leadership qualities that has provided inspiration to the many young players that have enjoyed the experience of playing alongside them.

Family history provides the connection for both players to join the Tigers Club after having played their junior football across the border. Brian Quade (Ryan’s fathers) is famously known within the organisation as Coach of the team that competed in 8 grand finals for 4 premierships during the period 1984 through to 1993.   Neil’s grandfather Stan Anderson was a legendary player and sports medicine trainer for the Tigers from the late fifties through to the mid nineties while his uncle Robert Anderson stamped his own history playing over 200 1st Grade games winning a number of premierships along the way.

Ryan and Neil were members of the historic NEAFL Eastern Conference Premiership team of 2012.

The Club congratulates them on the outstanding achievement of 200 Club games and will recognise the milestones at the 100 Club Dinner on 23 August. Ryan is expected to play his 200th 1st grade next month.
