28 August is possibly one of the biggest days ever at Dairy Farmers Park.

It concludes the Coaching career at home of Mark Armstrong who has been at the helm of the Tigers for the past nine years. As it stands it may be his last home game after a long playing career with the Club which commenced way back in 1993 as a young 17 year old which has since seen him accumulated 322 games.

The Tigers 1st Grade game against the Hawks on 28 August could also determine the team’s fate for 2010 with a finals spot up for grabs. They are in battle with Belconnen who are one game behind (plus just 1%) on the ladder but play a weakened Swans team in Canberra on Saturday.

The match on 28 August against the Hawks is significant for Tuggeranong veteran Jay Kickett who has also announced his retirement after 225 1st Grade games for his club.

The AFL Canberra Club Championship Trophy will also be decided on 28 August between Ainslie and Queanbeyan. The Tigers are four points behind the Tricolours and must win every game against the Hawks and hope for an upset by the Demons to take the title.

28 August is also the 10 Year Reunion of the Tigers Year 2000 1st Grade Premiership team with many players expected to attend from the final year of the Tigers Triple Premiership combination.

They will attend the Tigers 100 Club Function that night at which numerous player achievements will be acknowledged. Included in those acknowledgements will be the following – all achieved against the Hawks on 28 August.: Renee Ioppi is expected to play his 200th Club Game, Neil Irwin will play his 150 Club game and Dane Miller finally achieves the 100 Club game mark. Add the induction of Dennis Quade and Renee Ioppi into the Tigers Wall of Fame (along with one other) at the Tigers 100 Club plus the induction of Mitch Daniher, Bill Neely and Paul Briedis into the 100 Club and you have quite a day / night of celebrations.

Don’t miss this BIG DAY out for the Tigers Club on 28 August. If you haven’t booked for the Tigers 100 Club function you can do so through qtigers@tigersclub.com.au or by phone on 62993467
