The Queanbeyan Tigers can expect a tough encounter against Labrador Tigers of the NEAFL Northern Conference competition on Easter Saturday in the 2nd round of the NEAFL competition.

All other grades have the bye over the Easter break.

After a tough victory at home last Sunday, the Tigers have the onerous task of backing up within a 6 day period of defeating Ainslie by 3 points on top of the travel component.   They do not arrive on the Gold Coast until late Friday night.

An early game Saturday at 1.00pm will need to have players and conditioning staff at their best if they are to defeat the Northern Conference Tigers on their home turf at Cook – Murphy Oval.

Weather conditions will play a huge part in the end result with an expected temperature around 29 with high humidity.

The Queanbeyan Tigers will be missing ruckman Neil Irwin after his indiscretion last Sunday cost him 4 weeks at the tribunal last Tuesday evening.  Also not travelling is the tenacious Mitch Daniher and backup ruckman Nathan Kerlin – both unavailable over the Easter break.

Coming into the side for his first outing at NEAFL level is Justin Galloway – fresh out of last years Under 18 Grade team.  This is an enormous task for the tall youngster to take on the experience  ruckmen of the Labrador Tigers but he will have plenty of assistance from the teams on ball brigade who are carrying over their form from last years premiership performance.

Also moving into the team will be the return of Andrew Swan who missed last years grand final(s) after seriously injuring his knee in the last home and away match.   Paul Slater returns after a year off in 2012 with Paul Franchi also being named in the 23 man squad.
