Another Strong Showing.
Tigers Coach Kade Klemke led the way last Sunday with an inspirational game to assist the team maintain number one position on the NEAFL Eastern Conference table.
Along with partner in crime Josh Bryce, the pair were impassable across the half backline repeatedly turning defence into attack.
It was a top of the table clash, but the Sydney Hills Eagles left their early season form in the big city offering just token resistance to the local’s relentless attack on the footy.
In cold conditions and in front of a small crowd, those in attendance witnessed a clinical display by the Tigers. (Playing a game on Mothers day at 11.45am is surely not the best time for a NEAFL game – especially against a Sydney based team).
Once again James Kavanagh was a dominant goal kicker with 6. Alongside him, the effervescent Brett Fruend added another 4 to his already impressive tally this year.
Captain Ryan Quade returned to his best with a solid four quarter display which included three quality goals.
One name keeps bobbing up – the skill of Kaine Stevens this year is exceptional. His delivery of the ball into the forward line allows tremendous opportunities to all forward line players.
No one enjoys winning more than Neil Irwin. His development and strength this year has formed a strong ruck division with Quade and newcomers Nathan Kerlin and Ben Klemke.
The loss of Todd Dickinson with an ankle during the third quarter has been heavily felt but hopefully he returns in the not too distant future. For the first time in a number of weeks all three grades will play on the same day at the same ground in Round 9 with matches against Belconnen at Manuka Oval on Saturday.

Kirky 50th Club Game. Jeremy Kirkwood will take the field this Sunday against Sydney Hills Eagles for his 50th Club game and there will be no one more prouder than his father Damien who played for the Tigers in the 1998 1st Grade Premiership team.
Young Jezza has come through the Junior ranks winning a number of premierships along the way as well as being in the RAMS Development Squads and teams.
He will play his 50th 1st Grade match barring injury (and form) sometime this year. Age 21 Queanbeyan Tigers Junior 1st Grade Games – 39.
