BREAKING NEWS at TIGERLAND!!

Kav Commits to 2012

After months of speculation the Tigers can confirm the re-signing of star forward line player James Kavanagh for another season with the Club.

There has been huge speculation that he may have been returning to Melbourne in 2012, but a recent visit to the Tigers Office has confirmed his commitment to the Tigers for yet another season.

Not only will he knock up 100 1st Grade games for the Club next year he also sees the Club in a strong position for 2012 with the youth of the organisation providing a strong focus for success in future years.

“Kav” joined the Tigers in 2007 from Ainslie. He has not looked back since crossing the border from our arch rivals. His devotion and enthusiasm for the Club has been paramount during his five year stint.

Although not achieving the ultimate goal of premiership success with the Tigers he formed a huge “twin towers” forward line combination with Mark Armstrong during the period 2007 to 2010 which caused many headaches for our competition rivals.

Last year he gained Captaincy of the ACT Representative team that participated in the Australian Country Championships from which he gained All Australian Selection along with being selected Vice Captain of the Australian Country team.

His signing is a real boost for the Club which is actively seeking to recruit new players for 2012 along with announcing its Coaching line-up for all grades at the Clubs Presentation Night scheduled for Friday 21 October.
