Tigers Join together
The newly formed Richmond (Canberra based) supporters group named Capital Tigers have joined forces with the Queanbeyan Tigers to promote Richmond Football Club in the district.
Former legend and premiership player of Richmond Dale Weightman visited the Tigers Office at Dairy Farmers Park along with Capital Tigers recently elected President Darren Crick to put in place plans to promote both organisations in 2013 and beyond.
The Queanbeyan Tigers have a long history with the Richmond Tigers having been provided with a set of jumpers in 1935 from the Melbourne based club which obviously set the club in motion as being known as the Tigers in the then local League and now in the NEAFL.
Prior to wearing the black and gold, Queanbeyan wore Red and white in 1925, red with a blue sash and then light blue with a dark blue sash during the following years.
At their first meeting on the 12th of February, the following were elected to the committee of the Capital Tigers;
President: Darren Crick.
Secretary: Sean Gourlay.
Treasurers: Rodger Moore & Adam Lawrance.
Committee Members (Communications): Benjamin Roberts & James Buckley.
Committee Members (Events/Fundraising): Gregory Keane, Rick Dolliver & Justin Heycox.
Committee Member (Membership): Nick Evans.
Committee Members (Merchandise/Newsletter): Mark Will & Craig Bloom.
Committee Member (Social Media): Alison Neil.
