Cold and Windy Day at Allinsure Park.

The inclement weather last Sunday was certainly a very good reason to stay at home in the warmth of the family home hence the Tigers attracted its

smallest attendance to Allinsure Park this season. Both the Under 18 Grade Tigers Rising Stars and Tigerettes Second Grade had byes.

The other three senior grades played the Tuggeranong Hawks.

Highlights of the day included the 50th Club Game for Tim Shea and the inclusion of two youngsters in the Men’s 1st Grade lineup for their first 1st Grade matches for the Tigers.   Both Reece Pollock and Bailey Greenwood acquitted themselves well during the game, Reece being no stranger to playing at a higher level having played for the GWS GIANTS in the NEAFL on numerous occasions over the past two years.

Tigerettes 1st Grade

The day commenced in freezing conditions with the Tigerettes 1st Grade taking the field against a very much improved Tuggeranong Hawks combination.   They eventually won a tight contest with only a point separating the teams at half time.  The Tigerettes welcomed back former premiership player and 2013 Best and Fairest –  Tegan TismaQueanbeyan           0.4  0.4  3.4  4.7-31Tuggeranong           0.0  0.3  0.3  0.4-4

Tigers Reserve Grade Men’s

The Tigers Reserve Grade played a weakened Tuggeranong Hawks combination that was short on numbers hence a reduced number on the playing field for both clubs. The Tigers were far too strong completely dominating proceedings for the entire match with an outstanding effort from forward Dean Lord who posted 10 goals.Queanbeyan     5.510.1118.1624.20-164Tuggeranong     0.0    0.0    0.0   0.0 – 000

Tigers 1st Grade Men’s

Although the scoreboard may not indicate an improved effort by the Hawks – they were very competitive for the entire match. Credit to the club for pushing forward under extreme circumstances and for the competitive spirit shown. The Tigers welcomed two debutantes with Bailey Greenwood being rewarded for his stella form in the Rising Stars and Rhys Pollock returning from the Giants NEAFL playing their 1st First Grade game for the Tigers.

It was also great to see former Co-Captain Brett Fruend regaining form with a four-goal haul after off season ankle surgery.Queanbeyan      4.2 11.8 14.11 19.18-132Tuggeranong      1.0   2.0     4.2       4.3-27
