Former Tiger appointed GM of O&M

THE Ovens and Murray has appointed former Queanbeyan Tiger Sean Barrett as their new general manager.

Sean, or “Slick” as he was known to team mates, played 41 games for the Tigers in in 2001, 2002, and 2003. A very dependable Second Grade player, only one of those 41 games was in First Grade. Since leaving the Tigers, Sean played football in Northern Territory and also studied sports management and administration.

He moves in to the O&M GM role after  spending time with Thoroughbred Racing South Australia, Tennis SA and Tennis NT.

Ovens and Murray chairman Graeme Patterson said Barrett’s skills in sports development, marketing, sponsorship and event management made him a standout candidate. Sean will join the league on August 15, less than two weeks before the finals series kicks off.

“It’ll no doubt be a baptism of fire to start but it’s a great chance to experience first-hand feature events of the league,” he said.
