Great Day at Allinsure Park.
Trail Games v Eastlake in four Grades.
The Tigers Administration has certainly set the scene for an exciting year of football at Allinsure Park. Hours of voluntary work over the summer months has the ground looking fantastic and is highlighted by four new light towers that hover around the facility.
The ground looked magnificent for those who attended last Saturday at 7am with our canteen crew led by Judy Mustard and Lynne
McKenzie preparing early morning coffee and bacon and egg rolls. They in addition to Steve Grocott who was put the finishing touches on a revamped Growlers Deck.
Enter the Pavese family. They attended to every possible detail that required attention around the ground but particularly the area catering for an increasing Growler Membership base.
Then the arrival of our Sports Medicine Trainers and Team Management Group and all was set for a full day of footy which included the Under 18’s, Tigerettes 1st Grade followed by the Men’s Reserve and 1st Grade teams. 8 hours of footy against the Eastlake Football Club in each grade.
It was an entertaining day of football throughout with wins to the Tigers in three grades, losing the Reserve Grade which had four Under 18 Grade players backing up due to shortage of numbers. Not that will be a problem during the year considering some 25 players were unavailable for last weekend’s games.
Considering it was a trial game, the club enjoyed a strong following throughout the day for each grade. This was particularly noticeable during the Under 18 Grades where some proud former players watched their respective sons take the field for the first time in the black and gold of the senior grade club.
Full credit to all those who assisted throughout the day particularly to our Sports Medicine Group along with those in the Juniors Canteen. Their voluntary assistance does not go unnoticed and is as rewarding to them as it is appreciated by players and spectators.
It was also a long day for the Tigers Assistant Coaching staff who filled in for the Tigers First and Reserve Grade coaches both absent due to family commitments. Paul Campbell and Toby Conroy taking the reins for those games.
A huge thankyou to everyone who contributed to the Tigers Tathra Bushfire Appeal.
Senior grade player Kel Evans – a former Tathra resident – had family and friends affected by the devastation of the fire that swept through the coastal community last weekend. All players were requested to contribute on collection of their playing jumper along with officials and spectators attending.
A total of $1,165.00 was raised.
Kel was overwhelmed with the response considering he only requested assistance the evening before the games. Thank you to the Tigers Under 18 Grade who contributed all monies raised (so far this season) for their end of season trip. A wonderful gesture from an impressive group of men.
