In another major endorsement of the Tigers Youth Policy, Marist young gun Jack O’Halloran has put pen to paper signing a two year contract to join the reigning NEAFL EC Premiers.
O’Halloran comes to the Tigers with a very impressive junior record and has been one of Marist’s best over the past few seasons.
He has played in the ACT Schoolboys in both U12s and U15s and has also been in the Cats Program from U12s to U16s.
Jack was a member of the NSW/ACT U15s AFL Academy and was a vital member of Marist’s 2010 U18s Premiership Team.
At 18 Jack felt the Tigers had the runs on the board when it came to promoting juniors through the NEAFL system. “I am thrilled to be joining a club that will help me develop” Jack said
“When the Tigers approached me it wasn’t about expectations of being the next star it was more about how they can assist my football and prepare me for the challenges of NEAFL footy”
“My goal is to settle in, have a good pre season and learn as much as I can. I want to play NEAFL and I believe the Tigers will give me the chances if I work hard” he added.
Out going Football Manager Adrian Pavese said the club was thrilled to obtain Jack’s signature “Jack was a priority for us as the things that we had seen and heard was that not only is he going to be a very good player for us, he was also a great kid”
“Having dealt with Jack and his family over the past few weeks they are very good people and family and will only add to our family culture here at the Tigers” Pavese said
Jack will start pre season with the Tigers when the club returns on Monday the 19th November as the Tigers prepare for their Premiership defence in 2013.
