McCabe joins the Tigers
Crossing the border to play against the Tigers is one thing.
Crossing the border to play for the Tigers is another but there has been a steady stream over the years with the latest being James McCabe who joins fellow team mate David Smith at Tiger land for 2013.
“Smithy” signed with the Club some weeks ago (from the Tuggeranong Hawks) and is now joined by house mate James McCabe who is “as keen as mustard” to don the black and gold for 2013.
He comes to the Tigers with over 70 1st grade games under his belt being a former Hawks junior and a strong servant of the Tuggeranong Football Club.
His career includes representative honours with both AFL Canberra and at NEAFL level with the Under 23 Grade team that played the GWS GIANTS earlier this year.
The loss of veteran Roy Jaques from the Tigers back-line has certainly opened up an opportunity for “Occy” who has played mainly in the back-line during his career.
Close friendships with a number of Queanbeyan players has enticed him across the border .
