PIEMAN to Play 200th!

RENEE IOPPI

200th Club Game

The Tigers former Captain Renee Ioppi will take the field this Saturday against the Tuggeranong Hawks in Reserve Grade capping his 200th Club game for the Tigers.

This is a fantastic achievement after commencing his Senior Grade playing career in 1998.

Prior to this he enjoyed a successful junior career with our Junior Organisation.

Not many players can boast a record of winning most best and fairest awards available while progressing through a Junior Organisation.

That is the achievement Renee Ioppi recorded at a young age with the Queanbeyan Tigers before progressing into the Tigers senior ranks.

He has since gained recognition in almost every manner at the Senior Grade level.

The journey of Renee Ioppi’s 200 Club games record speaks for itself:• Member of the 1996 Grand Final NSW / ACT RAMS team • 1st Grade Games Played – 182 Reserve Grade Games Played – 18 • Tigers Scholarship Recipient 1998 – 1999 • 1st Grade Premiership player – 1998, 1999, 2000 • Grand Finalist 2002, 2003, 2004, 2007 • Reserve Grade Grand Finalist – 2001 • Captain – 1st Grade 2005 and 2006 (until injured), Co Captain – 2007, 2008 and 2009

Renee has been one of the most popular players to have donned the black and gold since the Club was established in 1925. Injuries have certainly plagued his long career but when fully fit he has been an inspirational player and leader.

He is known as a tough, strong and robust player who had the ability to change a game with unrelenting defensive tackling and tenacity.

Congratulations Renee on this fantastic achievement. He will recognised at the Tigers 100 Club Function with induction into the Tigers Wall of Fame and Life Membership along with our other 200 Club game player this year Dennis Quade.
