Tigerettes First Grade – through to Grand Final

Tigers Support base is Unbelievable.

The 1st Grade Tigerettes have entered their second consecutive Grand Final with a morale boosting 9 point victory over Belconnen Magpies at Manuka

Oval on Sunday.

In front of a large enthusiastic and encouraging Tigers supporters group – comprising of parents, players of all grades and a hugely supportive volunteer base, the Tigerettes overran their opponents in the last quarter to move into the Grand Final to be played against Eastlake next Sunday at Manuka Oval from 6pm.  The roar from the Tigers crowd after each goal was incredible and certainly lifted the spirits of the players on each occasion.

After finishing as Minor Premiers, the Magpies lost their last four games including two finals to bow out of premiership contention.

It was an amazing game played with tremendous spirit. Both teams should be proud of their sportsmanship and the way they embraced the game and the result – particularly after the final siren as they came together for the customary three cheers.

GRAND FINAL DAY

The Tigers Club have a huge AFL Canberra Grand Final Day at Manuka Oval next Sunday with three teams competing –  from the opening game of the

Under 18 Grade Rising Stars at 9.30am (time to be confirmed) followed by the Reserve Grade Men’s Grand Final through to the Tigerettes at 6pm that evening.

For the many volunteers, (especially those attending to the teams prior to and after each game), it will mean a 12-hour day from approx. 7.30am through to the end of the Tigerettes Grand Final.

Full details of Grand Final day will be published later in the week.

Tigerettes Reserve Grade

The Tigerettes Reserve Grade played Riverina Lions on Saturday at Rockley Oval in Googong. Were it not for a few interesting decisions in front of

goal in the opening two minutes and inaccuracy during the game, the youthful Tigerettes could have provided the upset of the season.

Unfortunately, the Lions suffered a few injuries during the game.

Thanks, and appreciation to the Tigers Sports Medicine Team who were on hand to lend support to the undermanned Riverina team. It was an intriguing game to witness being the last home and away game with finals commencing next weekend.

The Reserve Grade Tigerettes play ADFA in the Elimination Final next Sunday at 10.00am at ADFA. Unfortunately, this clashes with the Tigers Under 18 Grade Rising Stars Grand Final at Manuka Oval.
