Tigers Community Activities – 2019.

In line with the Tigers Strategic Plan, the Club is committed to providing a strong environment for everyone associated with the Club whether volunteers, players, sponsors and or supporters. Participation in other Community Activities is an important ingredient of showing what

our club is all about.

To that end, the Club has already assisted the community this year with support given to the Salvation Army, HOME in Queanbeyan, St Vincent de Pauls, Queanbeyan City Council Symphony Orchestra Promotion on the Queanbeyan River and a Junior Tigers Letterbox drop in Googong and Jerrabomberra.

The Clubs main Community Activity will be that of sending a group of associates to the Solomon Islands later this year to participate and assist the local population in many varied activities at schools and other projects in the community organised by the local Rotary Club. Footballs, playing jumpers and shorts plus other clothing will also be donated to the local Community

The Club has gained the assistance of three great supporters of local sporting and charitable organisations being Julie Meskall, Franca Jones and Di Mapleson to assist fund raise for the activity.

All three have been great supporters of the Tigers Club especially during the eighties and nineties.

They will be supported by Chief Organiser and Club Chaplain / Committee person Scott Minchin along with Sports Trainer Chrissy Craven and Club Chairman Ron Fowlie. It is expected 15 – 20 associates will travel. Contributions will be taken through a GoFundMe page (as per last year) in addition to donations being accepted through direct deposit to
