The Griffin Boys!
The Tigers 17th Annual Long Luncheon went to another level last Friday with high praise for the manner in which it was presented and conducted throughout the afternoon. Approx 340 guests attended.
The highlight being guest speakers Alistair Lynch and Simon Marshall. ABC Radio presenter Tim Gavel once again added a touch of class as the MC for the afternoon while a big thank you to Brendon Comyn who filled in at the last moment as the auctioneer.
The Hotel Realm is an excellent venue. It provides attendees with first class meals, table service and is in close proximity to most of the corporate businesses who attend the function.
The Long Luncheon was sponsored this year by Mart Delicatessen, Slater & Gordon, Canberra Data Centre, Commercial & Mechanical, the Top Pub and Rovera Scaffolding. A draw of $3,000 was won by the Canberra Date Centre of which was donated back to the Club by Craig Sebbons and Greg Boorer.
Excellent auction items were provided by Sleep Doctor, Southern Cross TEN, Hotel Realm, The Bower, Canberra Motor Cycle Centre, Bay Breeze Boutique Motel, Daiken Air Conditioning, Daniel McGavin, Sydney Swans and Garry Sykes through Dairy Farmers.
Bing Lee, Bank of Queensland (Ross Liddle) and the Top Pub provided the raffle prizes with other contributors being Carlton & United Breweries, Capitol Chilled Foods Australia and the Canberra Trophy Centre.
The Club would like to express its sincere appreciation to all those assisted with the function in particular Matthew Shelton and his wonderful staff at the Realm Hotel.
