Tigers lose both Finals

The Tigers Under 18 Grade Rising Stars and Division 1 teams were defeated in their respective finals appearance(s) last weekend.

Division 1

The Tigers Division 1 team could not repeat the previous week’s efforts in defeating Eastlake and succumbed to the Demons by 18 points in the elimination final.

An early onslaught by the third placed team provided a buffer which the Tigers could not reel in even though they drew to within points of the lead on a couple of occasions – especially with a quality third quarter performance.

Coaches Paul Campbell and Matthew Weickhardt can be well pleased with their efforts throughout the year. The team improved considerably as the season unfolded. They had to contend with an horrendous injury toll in the NEAFL Grade which meant a depleted Div 1 teams each week.

David Corcoran and Michael Hardy along with Dennis Quade also assisted throughout the season.  Our thanks and appreciation to our Coaching Staff for a wonderful year with this young and improving team.

Under 18 Grade Rising Stars

Ainslie were far too strong in Under 18’s on Saturday morning at Ainslie Oval winning comfortably by 23 points.

Although the goals scored between the two teams differ by just two, it’s the behinds that actually tell a different story with the Tricolours dominating for long periods during the game but unable to convert on the scoreboard.
