Tigers Overpower Belconnen.
The Tigers NEAFL team capped off a successful day at Dairy Farmers Park on Saturday winning their match against last years Eastern Conference Grand Finalist Belconnen Magpies by 32 points. The curtain raiser matches saw the Tigers 1st Grade and Under 18 Grade Rising Stars win both matches against Ainslie – last years premiership holders in the respective grades.
In perfect conditions the Tigers were only headed in the opening minutes of the game producing a blistering 7 goal second quarter to have the Magpies chasing tale for the balance of the game. To Belconnen’s credit they never gave in and chased what could have been an overwhelming score.
Up forward the Tigers Brett Fruend was dynamic and elusive producing an opportunist 5 goal haul.

Victory song!
There was a certain amount of relief in the change rooms as the Tigers song was belted out loud and clear for the first time this season. The centre huddle of new comers was almost as big as the main huddle of singers but it was well and truly sung with plenty of gusto.
