UPDATE: Global Poverty Walk with Matt & Wendy Napier
The Tigers Matt Napier and wife Wendy are on their last leg of a journey that has taken them across Australia from Perth via Adelaide and Melbourne and now through Canberra / Queanbeyan on 14 June on his way to Sydney. This is an extraordinary effort. Matt has been bouncing a footy the entire way with Wendy driving the support vehicle.
By the time he has completed the walk some 4,400km will have been covered.
You have the chance to support Matt when he arrives in Canberra in coming weeks by way of the following:
14 June: Matt will walking down Northbourne Avenue and onto London Circuit where Senator Kate Lundy will join him at 1pm for the final leg of the walk to Parliament House along with a number of other supporters. They will pass Albert Hall at approximately 1.20pm where they will be joined by a Fire Engine escort and more supporters. Matt and his supporters will be met on the lawns of Parliament House at 1.30pm by local and Federal politicians as well as local media.
I would like to arrange a strong group of Tiger Club associates to join Matt on this part of his journey . PLEASE let me know if you are interested and I will advise you of a meeting place.
15 June: Matt and Wendy will be attending the Tigers Club on Saturday 15 June for our Queanbeyan Idol Night.
17 June: Matt will be visiting Queanbeyan on Monday, the 17th of June. He will be meeting his supporters at 10:30am at the Queanbeyan Visitor Information Centre (the corner of Lowe Street and Canberra Avenue). He will then walk with his supporters along Monaro Street as a group, finishing at Queanbeyan East Public School (the corner of Yass Road and Mulloon Street) about 11:00am.
I would also like to invite all Tigers associates to support him on this day and walk with him as he takes on the last leg of the Global Poverty Walk to Sydney.
Please wear Black and Gold if you would like to participate.
