With the Patches Asphalt AFLW QBN Cup, trial games and Round 1 fast approaching, the Tigers Working Bee will be held on 19 February at Aulich Park.

Works have already started with numerous volunteers in recent weeks completing some much needed mowing, edging and general cleaning of the facilities led by Fred Gisik, Steve Wightman, the Pavese’s and the one and only Steve Grocott.

ree

Many hours have been spent by the above mentioned but no more so than Steve Grocott who spent three days mowing in areas not regularly seen by visitors as they are below the eye line behind the bottom goals between the upper and lower grounds of the Margaret Donoghoe Sporting Complex.

Unfortunately, QPRC have been unable to mow the surrounds of the ground due to the enormous workload around the Palerang Region from the recent rains.

Volunteers of the club have been assisting maintain the facility over the summer months even to the extent that the Clubs General Manager Adrian Pavese and Captain Josh Bryce have occasionally been mowing the playing field with small ride on mowers since last October.

To further assist QPRC maintain the facility, the footy club through a generous loan from its Licensed Club have purchased a large mower. This will provide the facility with excellent ground preparation for matches throughout the season.

The Club has a long list of works to be completed at the working bee on Saturday, 19th February from 8am to provide participants and visitors attending the inaugural AFLW preseason carnival the best possible experience when attending the following weekend.

All players, volunteers and indeed supporters are more than welcome to assist with the working bee which is expected to cover 4 hours on the Saturday morning.
