The Tigerettes have announced their 2020 Leaders off the back of the most successful season in the Tigerettes 10 year History.
With the Reserve Grade playing in the Grand Final in only their 2nd season coupled with the 1st Grade winning their 2nd Flag in 3 seasons, all bodes well for 2020.
In 1st Grade, 2019 Premiership Captain Carly Res will continue with the role and will be supported by 4 time Best & Fairest Ella Ross and in only her second year with the club Ruby Grounds.
Ella Ross & Ruby Grounds have been added to the 1st Grade Leadership Group for 2020
AFL Canberra legend and Tigers Star Mel Hurley
Our Reserve Grade will be once again led by the very experienced AFL Canberra legend Mel Hurley and she will be supported by Lauren Flakelar.
The Tigerettes leadership program has continued it’s exceptional development over the past 12 months which has been led by Head Coach Chris Clifton and his coaching staff as well as the holistic club efforts contributed by Club Chaplin Scotty Minchin who works tirelessly with the playing group.
All appointments were discussed at a coaches meeting held last week with all players from the women’s program given due consideration. It was then identified that the above appointments were best to represent the club.
After the selections, the players selected were approached and provided an opportunity to respond to their selection with all giving the nod to take on such important roles for the program.
The women’s squads have now been back in training for the past two weeks with numbers being extremely high and a host of new players gelling well with the current list.
Congratulation again to the players selected for leadership roles and we look forward to another successful Tigerettes season.
