It has taken three clubs and quite a number of years but Melissa Hurley has finally reached the wonderful achievement of posting 100 AFL Canberra matches in the Ladies Competition – a combined total with ANU, Ainslie and the Tigerettes.

Melissa joined the Tigers from Ainslie in 2012 and had an immediate impact on the Club with her professional approach and leadership qualities. This resulted in the Tigerettes improving considerably since their formation just two years prior.   Her experience and guidance showed on the playing arena resulting in a Best and Fairest achievement in her first year for the Tigers and a Jill Bright Medal for those efforts.

Unfortunately she missed obtaining a 4th premiership medal when the Tigerettes took out their first ever premiership title in 2013 – not through injury but through the birth of her first child but she was very much part of the team during this time.

A former AFL Canberra Ladies Representative player and 3 times Premiership player with Ainslie Melissa continues to be a solid contributor in 2014 as the Tigerettes strive to obtain Back to Back Premiership titles.   Like all other milestone achievers Melissa will be acknowledged at the Tigers 100 Club Dinner on 23 August.
