NEAFL Players Return Home!

2 time Premiership Coach Kade Klemke back at Tigerland

With season 2020 less than 4 weeks away the Tigers have been given a huge boost with the return of 5 NEAFL Players for this years competition!

The NEAFL competition was cancelled in 2020 due to the AFL teams withdrawing from the competition which has allowed local players the chance to return to their club of origin.

Headlining the returns will be 2012 (NEAFL) & 2015 Premiership Coach Kade Klemke who has been the driving force of the Canberra Demons for the past few years. Kade’s return will be his first time back at the club since 2016 and will provide wonderful experience to the playing group as well as the chance to add to his 86 1st Grade Games.

Tiger favorite Andrew Swan back home in 2020

Kade told the club early this week that while disappointed with the NEAFL closure, he is looking forward to being back at the Tigers and playing with the club as well as spending some more time with his family, taking a well earned break from the stresses of coaching the NEAFL team.

Another huge return is former Premiership Captain Andrew Swan. Swanny played his 100th 1st Grade game at the Tigers in 2019 when he was returning from injury and is looking forward to being back in Tigers colours.

The influence Andrew has with the club is shown with his instant approval from the playing group to be added to the Leadership Group for 2020.

Harry Grant returns to the Tigers in 2020 following a big 2019 with the Giants NEAFL

Also coming home are Harry Grant, Rhys Pollock and Matt Vardanega.

Grant, a local junior spent 2019 with the Giants NEAFL team and earned a Rising Star Nomination. Noisy has taken his game to another level through hard work and dedication that has placed him very well in the talent programs. He also made his Senior Debut in 2019.

Matt Vardanega came to the Tigers from Merimbula through the junior tigers and established himself as a solid senior prospect playing 11 Senior Games. He then took on the challenge of trying out for the NEAFL and while it took a little time he has become a regular in the team winning the 2019 Most Improved Award.

Rhys Pollock came to the club from Marist and has been a regular in the NEAFL programs at both the Giants and then Demons since his arrival. The crafty forward has managed 4 Senior games thus far and will certainly add to that tally in 2020.

The footy club are thrilled to have the boys back and look forward to seeing them and their families back at Tigerland in 2020.

Matty V also returns to the Tigers following a huge 2019.
