NEAFL

In consecutive weeks the Tigers NEAFL team have started slowly and relied on catch up footy before succumbing to losses against strong opposition.   The Tigers allowed Sydney University to a 33 point lead before clawing back into contention in their Round 7 match and then last weekend allowed Ainslie to advance to a 42 point lead early in the second quarter before posting the next four goals to be “back in the game”.

Unfortunately Ainslie struck back with two goals late in the second quarter to have a 30 point break at half time of which the Tigers could not reel in and were soundly defeated by 44 points by games end. It was a disappointing result for all concerned and highlighted the loss of the teams on ball brigade of Will Griggs, Ben King and Jarrod Atkinson – all absent due to injury.

Convincing win over Eastlake

Convincing win over Eastlake

The Tigers Under 18 Grade had a convincing win over Eastlake at Manuka Oval last Saturday by 77 points. The inclusion of Darcy Spinks and Jarrod Thompson certainly boosted the team however Captain Brandon Lagana was promoted to 1st Grade and performed creditably.

The Under 18 Grade team meet Belconnen at Dairy Farmers Park on Saturday at 9.30am.

Tigerettes

The Tigerettes had another convincing win last Saturday this time over ANU at ANU. Lani Watson played her 50th Game for the Tigerettes and was outstanding posting four goals with plenty of other opportunities going astray.

The Tigerettes meet Molonglo next Sunday at Stirling Oval from 10.00am .ANU0.00.00.10.2Queanbeyan4.19.611.914.13
