One Season Finishes – Another One Starts.

2012 Youth Development Program.

The Tigers Club Youth Development program kicked off at Dairy Farmers Park on Tuesday 4 October with 45 young lads participating in a three day school program conducted by Tigers NEAFL Assistant Coach Adrian Pavese, Under 18s Coach Paul Campbell and Tigers Under 18s Assistant Coach Peter Jensen.

Senior players Stephen Camp, Alec McCormick and Daniel Hespe volunteered their time to assist the players.

The Youth Development Program will assist promising young players (aged between 10 and 14) progress through the junior ranks with eventual elevation into the Armstrong Academy and then into the Senior Grade playing ranks.

Along the way, they will learn about Life Skills, History of the Tigers Club and skill development of our game.

The three day program included a “players camp” at the NSW Sport and Recreational facility at Jindabyne whereby the lads enjoyed a number of activities including indoor rock climbing.

Other members of the Junior Organisation who assisted with the three day program included Judy Mustard, Lynne McKenzie, Anne Brown, Heath Ross and Michael Frost.

Also a big thanks to Darryl Jenkins who cooked the meals for everyone on Wednesday night. Everyone enjoyed dinner thanks to Darryl.

Day 1 – The players were put through a series of skills.

With the club pushing to form a Youth Girls Team it was pleasing to have 4 girls involved in this years program.

In Jindabyne the players were put through some warm up drills.

Kicking, Tackling and Ball handling drills was the focus of Day 2.

Darryl Jenkins cooked up a great feed for everyone – Thanks Darryl.

The Indoor Rock Climbing session on Day 3 was a big hit.
