Tigerettes Spirit put to the Test – and they PASS!

The Tigerettes were well beaten by a more experienced and talented Ainslie in their final home game of the season on Sunday. To their credit they were never beaten for effort, nor allowed a quarter to blow out too much despite missing key players and struggling to field a full compliment.

The entire backline was terrific despite being under the pump most of the day. Tracey Mosley and Bobbie Minniecon continued their excellent form across half back, Shay Thomas was reliable at full back and Amy McLenaghan continues to impress as a defender with her marking and contesting.

Despite not having any rotations and up against some talented opposition Hannah Dunn and Tegan Tisma also continued their good form in the midfield and Maddi Skinner was the players player in an excellent performance on a wing.

The final margin was only 5 points more than the mid-season clash with Ainslie, and while neither are too much to get excited about, there are still several individual improvements that are exciting and at least the team can hold its collective head high as it doesn’t throw in the towel and keeps making their more highly rated opponents work hard for their possessions.

This spirit will be put to the test one last time in 2011 as the Tigerettes finish their second season against Belconnen at Jamison. Game is on Sunday at 10am.
