At the end of June this year the Queanbeyan Tigers Senior and Junior Clubs sponsored three of it’s Armstrong Academy players to attend the Western Bulldogs Academy which was held over two days at the Mission Elite Training Centre Whitton Oval, Melbourne.

Young Guns Sam Jensen, Jack Bowyer and James Armstrong were shown what it is like to be an AFL player and areas they need to improve in to become a better player. During the two days they were addressed by Senior Coach Rodney Eade, Bulldogs Star Daniel Cross, Bulldogs Recruitment Manager Simon Dalrymple and many of the Bulldogs Training and Fitness staff.

The boys were also taken out to the Victorian University and put through the same testing that is conducted at the AFL Draft Camp every year. They also trained on the hallowed turf of the legendary Whitton Oval, Footscray.

Former Tigers player Brett Daniher who now works full time for the Western Bulldogs is to be thanked for providing the Tigers with the opportunity to be able to send some of our future stars down to experience the world of an AFL Club.

This association will continue as the Queanbeyan Tigers have already committed to three places in next years Bulldogs Academy. These players will be selected from the 2010/11 Armstrong Academy Program.
