Tigers Too Good Across the Grades for Tuggeranong Hawks
In perfect weather conditions at Allinsure Park last Saturday, the Tigers won three grades against Tuggeranong Hawks and compiled a comprehensive

Tigerettes Reserve Grade playing in the AFL Canberra Regional Competition comprising teams from Riverina, Cootamundra, Eastlake, Belconnen and Tuggeranong.
Kicking of the day, and with many new faces in the team, the Tigerettes Reserve Grade played an exciting brand of football against a completely new team in Eastlake Demons – this being the first time Eastlake have entered a Reserve Grade team.
Much to the Demons credit they battled hard all day. However, they were no match for a Tigerettes team which bristled with youth and a touch of experience having a number of last year’s 1st Grade Grand Final players having a run in the early game. Its been a long preseason for this group and if their game on Saturday is any indication they are in for a fantastic season.

Tigers Men’s Reserve Grade

For the second week in succession, the Tigers Reserve Grade held their opposition goalless in a dominating display over the Tuggeranong Hawks. The home team had things well under control from the outset posting 5 goals in the first quarter, eventually running out 143-point victors.
Unfortunately, an injury to promising newcomer Jayden Cutts held up play for some time but hopefully he will be back on deck soon. Ollie Hicks enjoyed his first time in the Tigers colours posting 5 goals while Jack Carroll Tape made a strong return after a lengthy time out with injury having surgery over the off season.

Tigers Men’s 1st Grade
The Tuggeranong Hawks were far more competitive than the score indicates and based on last year, the Hawks would have to be pleased the way the club has progressed over the off season. They were certainly tough opposition with Queanbeyan having to fight for the entire game to post a respectable score by games end.
Up forward, Tim Clowry posted 7 goals for the Tigers but much of the work was done around the centre where the Tigers repeatedly sent the ball forward. Old stager Toby Conroy was at his very best while Jeremy Bridger worked hard in the ruck against his much larger opponent. Matt Bernasconi played his best game down back for the Tigers against his former club.
The Tigers now meet Eastlake on Sunday at Football Park – a ground the Tigers 1st Grade have not played on since the Premiership of 2000 – ironically against Eastlake. AFL Canberra moved headquarters from the 2001 season to Manuka Oval. A revamp of Football Park has seen the League relocate Officers and match days to the ground in a move to align itself with a more Community Footy outlook.

Tigerettes 1st Grade

The Tigerettes 1st Grade were far to accomplished for the Tuggeranong hawks in the late game at Allinsure Park. Last years Grand Finalists are showing every bit a contender for that one day in September with some excellent and exciting movement of the footy over the past few games. Captain Carly Res led the way against the Hawks with a dominating display around the ground. Up forward Jacky Perry posted another 6 goals with some familiar names Ross, Tisma, Godfrey, Tupper and Strama all being prominent performers during the game.
This Sunday is a replay of last years Grand Final in which Eastlake outplayed the Tigerettes. It should once again be a great contest in the late game at 3.45pm at Football Park.

Under 18 Grade Rising Stars
This Sunday the Tigers Rising Stars team play Eastlake at 9.30am. Two wins on the trot for the Tigers has lifted spirits within this very young team which is dependent on many Under 17 grade players backing up each week and those players who “may” be available who currently represent the Club at higher levels with the GWS GIANTS Under 18 and NEAFL teams.
