The tigers have added some class to their ranks with the signing of former Lavington Panther and Canberra Demon Jack Nunn.

The former Lavington junior played a big part in the seniors for the Panthers until Kade Klemke convinced Nunn to join the Canberra Demons NEAFL team in 2018. Jack then decided to join the Gungahlin Jets full time in 2019.

Injuries over the past two seasons has limited Jack's game time with 2021 only yielding 2 games. Having now been finally cleared to play again, Jack felt he has one more chance to crack in and give it everything and has decided the tigers is the place for him. We welcome Jack and wife Bec to our Tigers Family.

In awesome news, the club is thrilled to welcome son of a gun Lachie Mertz to Tiger Land for 2022!

Many tigers people will know his dad Guy, who played 130 First Grade Games for the club, played in the Tigers 1998 & 1999 Premierships teams and was the 1999 Tigers Tony Wynd Medalist Best & Fairest.

Now Lachie is starting to forge his own senior football journey having been a massive part of the powerful Marist U18s team, a member of the GIANTS Academy and winning the League goal kicking in 2021.

In these uncertain times, a footy club needs their Partners more than ever and the Tigers have certainly been blessed by the support of the special group of people and companies who have committed again to the club and secures our future.

In another huge boost for Tigers, Belle Property has signed on for the next two years as part of our Major Corporate Partnerships and will now have a presence in both the Senior and Junior Clubs!

Belle Property joined the Tigers two years ago as a Luncheon Partner and through this relationship which has grown, have now upgraded to one of our Major Corporate Partners for the next two years.

"Having been apart of the Tigers family over the past two years has been very special for us and it is with great pride that we can continue to support the club for the next two years" Principal Owner Richard Davies said

"Along with a couple of colleagues, we now have our kids playing with the Tigers which is very exciting. Our charter has been and will continue to be supporting the community that supports us, investing in such a proud community club like the Tigers was one we have loved being associated with" he added.

"We are very proud to be apart of the Belle Partnership family and can't thank them enough for the continued show of support" GM of Football Adrian Pavese said

"Belle are super generous with the support of community sport here in Queanbeyan and to be linked into their partnership base that also supports the QBN Whites and QBN Golf Club to name a few is one we are very proud of" he added

You will see a lot more of Belle Property in 2022 as they will also sponsor a Junior Tigers Team and will be added to the senior playing shorts as well.

Again we are blessed to have the support of Belle and on behalf of the club we thank all of our wonderful partners for their support and belief in our club - it is truly cherished and valued.

1st October 2021

Dear Members,

We are just days away from reopening our doors, and we simply cannot wait.

The reopening date is the Monday after the 70% double vaccination rate is reached. This is predicted to be Monday 11 October 2021.

In preparation to reopen, we would like to advise members of the likely entry rules that will be in place and how you can prepare yourself to ensure a safe and welcoming environment when you return.

How You Can Prepare

The Queanbeyan Tigers Club have been advised that, upon reopening, all visiting members, guests, and staff can only access the club premises if they are fully vaccinated or medically exempt.

ClubsNSW is working with the NSW Government on the Service NSW “vaccine passport”, which will give clubs and visiting patrons an avenue to verify their vaccination status.

Before the “vaccine passport” is available, clubs must verify a patron’s vaccination status using other means. It is therefore essential that the Queanbeyan Tiger Club inform our members of these options in advance of reopening.

Here are some frequently asked questions that may also assist you.

How can I prove I’m fully vaccinated?

You can prove you are fully vaccinated through your:

  • COVID-19 digital certificate

  • Immunisation history statement.

Where can I access my proof of vaccination?

You can access your proof of vaccination (COVID-19 digital certificate or immunisation history statement) using:

  • Your Medicare online account through myGov

  • The Express Plus Medicare mobile app, which also gives you the option of adding your digital certificate to an Apple Wallet or Google Pay.

Can I come to the club if I’ve only had one vaccine dose?

The NSW Government has announced that only people who have received both doses of the vaccine can come to the club the Monday after NSW reaches the 70 per cent double-dose milestone.

How can I get proof in hard copy?

You can ask your vaccination provider to print your immunisation history statement.

You can also call the Australian Immunisation Register on 1800 653 809 and ask them to send your statement to you. It can take up to 14 days to arrive in the post.

What if I can’t get vaccinated?

Subject to the legislation which mandates vaccinations, people who can’t be vaccinated may be permitted to enter the club if they obtain a “contraindication certificate” in the approved form (which can be found here). Please consult your medical practitioner for further information. It is likely that we will only be permitted to accept a medical exemption in the approved form.

How can I prove to the club that I’m fully vaccinated or medically exempt?

You can show our staff proof of vaccination:

  • Open your Express Plus Medicare mobile app, click “Immunisation history” and then click “View COVID-19 digital certificate”

  • Access our COVID-19 digital certificate in your Apple Wallet or Google Pay

  • Present a hard copy of your immunisation history statement

  • Present a hard copy of a medical exemption (contraindication certificate) in the approved form completed by a medical practitioner.

We kindly ask that you have this information ready before you arrive at the club, to prevent crowding.

How will the club know my proof of vaccine or medical exemption is authentic?

At our discretion, we may attempt to verify that your “proof of vaccine” is authentic. We remind you that it is a federal offence to falsify this information.

Where can I find more information?

Further information on accessing and proving your vaccination status can be found on the Services Australia website (here) and the NSW Government website (here).

For more details on how we are preparing for our reopening and our safety measures stay tuned to our website.
