2022 Tigers Coaches Announced

Moving on quickly from the disappointment of the cancelled 2021 season, the Tigers are not dwelling on missed opportunities and are excited to be announcing their coaching staff for the 2022 season.

It will be a big year ahead for the tigers as we draw ever closer to our 100th Birthday (2024) and celebrate the 10th Anniversary of the 2012 NEAFL Premiership when the men's 1st Grade defeated the Sydney Swans Reserves. The club will also acknowledge up to 9 players male and female who will reach the magical 150 & 100 games for the Tigers.

2022 Tigers Coaching Team

Men's 1st Grade

The club is pleased to announce 2021 Co-Coaches Kade Klemke and Adrian Pavese will again lead the squad for the 2022 season.

What makes this appointment even more special is that Klemke coached the Tigers to the 2012 NEAFL Premiership with Pavese by his side as senior assistant.

Heading into the 10th Anniversary of that stunning win, it is awesome that they continue to work together building towards more success for the club.

Kade's record at the tigers is very impressive being the 2012 & 2015 Premiership Coach

and 2012, 2015 & 2020 Premiership Player with another grand final appearance as coach and player in 2016.

He then spent 4 seasons at the helm of the Canberra Demon's NEAFL team before Covid cancelled the 2020 NEAFL season and seen Kade return to his beloved Tigers.

At the end of 2020, Kade again teamed up with good friend and 2020 Premiership Coach Adrian Pavese to co-coach the team in 2021.

The Premiership defense was tracking well with the squad sitting top of the table by round 13 before covid shut down the competition. So it is unfinished business that will drive the coaching staff and players in 2022.

Matt Wecker continues as High Performance Manager with another announcement of a former coach from 2012 hopefully returning to the club coming soon.

The club wishes to thank 2012 & 2020 Premiership Assistant Coach Paul James for all of his efforts as he calls time on his coaching career with the Tigers. Paul's efforts will be recognised at this years Presentation Night - Thanks for everything PJ and we hope to see you and the family around the club during the year.

Women's 1st Grade

A Premiership in 2019, Grand Final in 2020 and sitting 2nd when Covid shutdown the 2021 season, there was no easier decision than to re-appoint Chris Clifton as head of the tigers Women's Program for 2022.

Despite his success in 2019/20, there is no doubt Cliffo's best effort was in 2021 having to rebuild the program following a huge turnover of players.

Following 4 successive 1st Grade Grand Final appearances (2017/18/19/20) that yielded two flags, 2021 was a big rebuild year and to be able to manage this transition of players and still have the girls sitting 2nd was a wonderful effort by Chris and his team and certainly sets up for an exciting 2022 season.

Our girls are extremely lucky to have such a devoted and experienced coach to drive the program, the hours Chris puts into his preparation, planning, player management and education is second to none.

With a great crop of youth girls graduating, a year of experience for our new players and a wealth of experienced players still involved, we are looking forward to seeing how far the girls improve under Chris in 2022.

Women's & Men's Reserve Grade

We are thrilled to announce our Reserve Grade squads will be well looked after with 2020 Women's Reserves Grand Final Coach Ken Sissons returning for a 3rd year at the helm and Tim Hull taking on the Men's team following a 2 year stint as Assistant Coach.

The extremely popular Sissons was another easy appointment. His development of the Super Two's girls over the past two years has been excellent and the back bone of the success of the rebuild with many of the players ready to take the next step in 2022.

Tim Hull joined the club 4 years ago and has firmly entrenched himself as a tiger. Hully's

devotion to the club has seen him fill many rolls and having done his time as an assistant of the Men's two's over the past 2 years now sees him ready to take the reins next season.

Having played 125 games for the Jets and being a Premiership player in 1994 during their successful period, we are looking forward to seeing what Tim can bring to the program and if his devotion to the club and players over the past 4 years is any indication then this squad will be well looked after.

2021 Assistant Coach Grant Worner will once again be on board to give Hully support and we hope to make other Assistant Coaching announcements for various grades soon.

Rising Stars Men

The club is currently targeting a group of coaching candidates who can potentially take on this important and rewarding role.

Our young men had a fantastic 2021 and with balancing our numbers were able to finish Minor Premiers in the U17s and 4th in the RS when the competition closed. This group will be very exciting in 2022 and we hope to announce their coach very soon.

The club has begun securing their men's & women's playing group and we will have announcements of signings very soon.
