Long Lunch Success!!

The Tigers 16th Long Luncheon attracted approximately 350 people to the Real Hotel in Barton last Friday. It was a fantastic event with Guest Speaker Kevin Sheedy providing an insight into the GWS campaign and other memorable moments of his long and involved career as Coach of Essendon Football Club and his playing days at Richmond.

Malcolm Johnston – who boasts the highest number of suspensions for any jockey in Australia – gave a hilarious 30 minute description of his life including a visit back to his original honeymoon destination much to the laughter of the strong audience in attendance.

Auctioneer Joe Cleary did a magnificent job with the auction items. He along with MC Tim Gavel added a very professional touch to the function which gained high praise from the many corporate tables in attendance.

The Tigers Gained support from the following for the event: Carlton and United, ActewAGL, Garry Sykes through Dairy Farmers, Belluccis Restaurant, Servitel, Baybreeze Boutique Motel, Southern Cross TEN, Sleepdoctor, Hotel Realm, Top Pub, Resort Trailers, Bing Lee, Coca Cola, GWS and Mart Delicatessen.

The organising committee of the function included former players Michael Kennedy, Peter Bowyer, Roger Cheetham, Allan Mapleson, Steve Wightman and Matty Griffin. The Club would like to thank all those in attendance including the Realm Hotel for the excellent manner in which they assisted the Tigers Club organise the function.
