In the current climate and having two interrupted COVID19 years, for any player to reach 100 games is a fantastic achievement but to hit 150 is almost unheard of!

This Saturday club favourite Dean Ross will hit this magical milestone when the tigers face off against Ainslie at Alan Ray Oval.

ree

Dean had to spend most of his junior footy at St Edmunds before his eventual move into the U18s at Tigerland in 2008. He then moved up into senior football way back in 2010 which was rocky start for Dean who was trying to push into a Reserves squad that at the time was super strong and in the middle of their 3 peat Premiership run (2009/2010/2011).

Dean decided he was over footy in 2011 until a good mate convinced him to play at ANU in 2012. Having fallen back in love with the game and wanting to again test himself at a higher level, Dean returned to the tigers in 2013 and the rest is history.

His leadership at the club was standout from day 1 which culminated in being captain of the Tigers 2014 AFL Canberra 1st Grade Premiership side (Tigers fielded a NEAFL team in 2014 and was classed as a separate competition) which then rolled into being a key member of the 2015 team that defeated the undefeated Belconnen Magpies in 1st Grade AFL Canberra Competition. (Tigers & Belconnen were out of NEAFL in 2015).

Despite the success, Dean still had some hurdles to overcome over the next couple of seasons post the premierships especially with injuries. But true to his nature and want to succeed, he never wavered and kept playing as hard as he could and led by example to fight his way back into senior calculations.

The 2020 1st Grade Premiership rewarded Dean's devotion to his mates & want to be the best he can be as well as his love the club. Bull continues to be in the Leadership group setting the standards for the younger players to aspire to play 1st Grade footy while hopefully gaining some more success for his beloved Tigers.

Congratulations Bull!
